ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Regular attendance at school is important. Missing a day of school on occasion may not seem like much, but absences do add up! Consider the following:
- When a student misses two days a month, they miss 20 days of school for the year and are considered chronically absent.
- Missing two days a month of school, a student would miss more than a year of school by the time he or she graduates.
- Missing two days a month of school, a student misses 60 hours of reading and writing instruction and 30 hours of math instruction over the course of a single school year.
